St. Mauritius Ensemble
We offer You a chance to spend an evening in a medieval house accompanied by Baroque music. The St. Mauritius Ensemble traditionally performs in the Fraternity Room, where a candlelit atmosphere with a fireplace recreates the era which birthed Tallinn and its residents. Here you can feel yourselves as in the court of some European king, where Baroque musicians perform only a few steps from the audience.
The composition of the ensemble:
- OKSANA SINKOVA flute
- ALINA SAKALOUSKAYA mandolin
- ENE NAEL harpsichord
- VILLU VIHERMÄE Baroque cello, commentary
The ensemble’s repertory is varied and distinctive – they prepare many arrangements themselves, so there is always something new and surprising for the audience.
Currently they have 5 different programmes in the their repertory:
- “A Naval Voyage from Spain to Greece”
- “Vivaldi and Mandolin”
- “A German and English Christmas”
- “Unusual Duet”
- “Baroque Christmas – Tender and Glorying” (soloist Kädy Plaas)
