The programme demonstrates the beauty and specific character of music written for string orchestra. Such music is mostly heard in Estonia precisely at Tallinn Chamber Orchestra concerts. The emphasis here, as a counterpoint to the sound of a grand symphony orchestra, is on pastel tones. Even though Rääts’ concerto is one of the most brightly rhythmic Estonian orchestral works. As such, even 50 years after its creation it often serves as Estonia’s calling card.
