In honour of Mozart’s 260th anniversary, the programme includes two of his vernally joyful D major symphonies. The first one, K 95, is a short unnumbered symphony written in 1770. Symphony No. 38 premiered on 19 January 1787 in Prague.
The residency of Tõnu Kõrvits, which began with began with the delicate song cycle “Moorland Elegies”, culminates with the premiere of a bassoon concerto at the season’s final concert.
