Recordings of the works of Johann Jakob Froberger and Johann Joseph Fux on a modern piano are extremely rare, a fact that served as one of the main motivations for this album production. At the same time, Kärt felt the importance of enriching the current piano literature. If works by Rameau, Couperin, Bach and Handel have long been a part of pianist´s repertoire, then why not perform Froberger and Fux on a modern piano?
The CD was produced by GENUIN Classics Label, recording took place in Gewandhaus in Leipzig and Recording Producer was Michael Silberhorn.
Estonian born pianist Kärt Ruubel has resided in Germany since 2008 and currently living and working in Berlin.
She has been invited to play at several music festivals including Gezeiten Festival, Hohenlohe Kultursommer, Festspiele Mecklenburg-Vorpommern and Aurora Chamber Music.
As a founding member of the neophon ensemble, she has collaborated with such prominent composers as Jörg Widmann, Wolfgang Rihm and Peter Ruzicka.
During this concert season 2017/18 Kärt will perform in England, Ireland and Germany and will make her Début with her twin sister, Triin, in the Philharmonic Hall in Berlin.
