St. Mauritius Ensemble

We offer You a chance to spend an evening in a medieval house accompanied by Baroque music. The St. Mauritius Ensemble traditionally performs in the Fraternity Room, where a candlelit atmosphere with a fireplace recreates the era which birthed Tallinn and its residents. Here you can feel yourselves as in the court of some European king, where Baroque musicians perform only a few steps from the audience.

The composition of the ensemble:

  • OKSANA SINKOVA flute
  • ALINA SAKALOUSKAYA mandolin
  • ENE NAEL harpsichord
  • VILLU VIHERMÄE Baroque cello, commentary

The ensemble’s repertory is varied and distinctive – they prepare many arrangements themselves, so there is always something new and surprising for the audience.

Currently they have 5 different programmes in the their repertory:

  • “A Naval Voyage from Spain to Greece”
  • “Vivaldi and Mandolin”
  • “A German and English Christmas”
  • “Unusual Duet”
  • “Baroque Christmas – Tender and Glorying” (soloist Kädy Plaas)
