U: jätkab Reisdentuu:ride sarjaga. 2026. aastal on Residentuu:ri teemaks "Ülekanne. Kommunikatsioon. Meedia. ". Eesmärgiks on püüda laiemas mõttes vaadelda sõnumite-mõtete-ideede edasiandmist, tõlkimist ühest meediast teise, suhtlust ja kommunikatsiooni - printsiipe, mis on kogu kunstiloome aluseks. Ühtlasi esitab U: teemadega seotud valitud teoseid.

VALERIO SANNICANDRO (1971, Itaalia) muusikat on mänginud paljudel Euroopa mainekamatel muusikafestivalidel kollektiivid nagu Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Modern, Sharoun Ensemble, Orchester des Bayerischen Rundfunks, Ensemble Recherche, Repertorio Zero, Kroumata, AlterEgo, Musikfabrik NRW, Divertimento Ensemble jt. Sannicandro töö juures on üks huvitav aspekt tegelemine ruumiga, instrumentaalse spatsialisatsiooni ning nn mitme-ruumi-teostega alates 2000. aastate algusest IRCAMis ja mujal. Tema Berliini Tehnikaülikoolis kaitstud doktoritöö kannab pealkirja „Space and Spatialization as Discrete Parameter in Music Composition“.

Sarja toimumist toetavad EV Kultuuriministeerium ja Eesti Kultuurkapital ning see toimub koostöös Eesti Nüüdismuusika Keskuse ja Mustpeade majaga.

NB! Neljapäeval, 12. märtsil, algusega kell 19.00 toimub Mustpeade majas U: “Kahe saali kontsert”, mille õhtu kava keskmes just Valerio Sannicandro teose “Iter-Reti”(2022/2026) uusverioon Osmose süntesaatorile.

The event will be held in English, with informal translation into Estonian and other languages if needed.

U: continues its Residentuu:r series. In 2026, the theme of Residentuu:r is “Transmission. Communication. Media.” The aim is to explore, in a broader sense, the conveying of messages, thoughts, and ideas; the translation from one medium to another; interaction and communication — principles that form the foundation of all artistic creation. U: will also present selected works related to the theme.

VALERIO SANNICANDRO (b. 1971, Italy) has had his music performed at many of Europe’s most prestigious music festivals by ensembles such as Ensemble Intercontemporain, Ensemble Modern, Scharoun Ensemble, Bavarian Radio Symphony Orchestra, Ensemble Recherche, Repertorio Zero, Kroumata, AlterEgo, Musikfabrik NRW, Divertimento Ensemble, and others. One particularly interesting aspect of Sannicandro’s work is his engagement with space, instrumental spatialization, and so-called multi-space works since the early 2000s at IRCAM and elsewhere. His doctoral dissertation at the Technical University of Berlin is titled “Space and Spatialization as Discrete Parameter in Music Composition.”

The series is supported by the Estonian Ministry of Culture and the Cultural Endowment of Estonia and takes place in cooperation with the Estonian Centre for Contemporary Music and the House of the Blackheads.

NB! On Thursday, March 12 at 19:00, U: will present the “Two Halls Concert” at the House of the Blackheads. The evening program will focus on a new version of Valerio Sannicandro’s work “Iter-Reti” (2022/2026) for Osmose synthesizer.
