Multitalented and bright vocalist Sofia Rubina with her innovative cross-genre approach is known for most Estonian jazz aficionados. Her creative practice includes pure classical jazz as well as influences from soul and gospel, also, she is a passionate fan of club music and funk. Rubina has performed in numerous famous jazz festivals all over the world as well as collaborated with acknowledged musicians from Russia, Latvia, Lithuania and USA. In 2009 she obtained the Young Jazz Talent award given by Estonian Jazz Union and Jazzkaar, followed by several other awards. Sofia Rubina has released five albums – In the Land of OO BLA DEE received the award of the Jazz Album of the Year 2016 in Estonian Music Awards. The brand new album Where It Begins (released in 2019) has been greatly approved both by fans and critics. At TAFF Club the audience will hear pieces from the album as well as other songs that are close to Sofia and her band.
