Concerto grosso, see barokiajal sündinud muusikažanr on oma avarate mänguliste võimalustega inspireerinud heliloojaid läbi sajandite. Ka eesti muusika kullafondist leiame mõne concerto grosso.
Just heliloojate imeline oskus täita sajanditevanune muusikavorm omanäolise stiili ja sisuga, on teinud mitmest sellesse žanri kuuluvast teosest kaasajalgi nauditava kuulamise.
Ent eesti muusikaajalugu seob concerto grosso žanriga rohkemgi kui vaid eesti heliloojate poolt loodud teosed. 30.09.1977 toimus tollase Tallinna Tehnikaülikooli aulas väga eriline kontsert, kus kõlasid esiettekandena nii Alfred Schnittke Concerto grosso nr.1 kui Arvo Pärdi Tabula rasa. Esitajateks Gidon Kremer ja Tatjana Grindenko, dirigendiks Eri Klas.
Käesoleva sarja lõppkontsert toimub nende kahe, ajastut ja muuusikamaailma tugevasti mõjutanud teose esiettekande 50.aastapäeval – 30.09.2027.
Aga alustame algusest.
Sarja avakontserdil, pühapäeval 19. aprillil kell 17, kõlab Mustpeade maja Valges saalis Lepo Sumera ühe viimase teosena valminud Concerto grosso. Tulekul on imeliselt mänguline Eesti Muusika Õhtu.

Concerto grosso, musical genre, born in the Baroque era, has inspired composers throughout the centuries with its wide range of musical possibilities. The golden fund of Estonian music also includes a few concertos grossos, whose soloist line-up was quite unconventional at the time of their creation. It is precisely the composers' wonderful ability to fill this centuries-old musical form with their own unique style and content that has made many of the works belonging to this genre enjoyable to listen to even today.
But Estonia has even more of a connection to the concerto grosso – on September 30, 1977, a very special concert took place in the auditorium of the then Tallinn Technical University, featuring the premiere performances of both Alfred Schnittke's Concerto grosso No. 1 and Arvo Pärt's Tabula rasa. The performers were Gidon Kremer and Tatjana Grindenko, orchetra conducted by Eri Klas.
The final concert in our series will take place on the 50th anniversary of the premiere of these two works, which had a profound impact on their era and the world of music – on September 30, 2027.
The opening concert of the series, on Sunday, April 19, at 5 PM in the White Hall of the Blackheads House, will feature Lepo Sumera's Concerto grosso.
It promises to be a wonderfully playful Estonian Music Evening.
